About Lauren  Hoffmeier

Picture
Lauren  Hoffmeier was born and raised in the heart of New  York City  where she had the privilege of garnering her passion for music, theater, and  musical theater. As quoted by the New York Post, “Lauren Hoffmeier is a throwback to brass-lunged divas like Ethel Merman, with an alto belt that can stun at 20 paces."

In her recent main stage debut at the Dicapo Opera Theatre, she has been quoted as “Eva Arden-like” and
“stopped the show with [her] love-at-first-Texas-drawl, song-and-dance production number, '(You’re from) Big D.'..." She is a proud graduate of New York City's Laguardia High School of Performing Arts where she studied drama, after which she went on to earn her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts Degree from Boston University's prestigious College of Fine Arts (BFA, Theater Arts). Some of her leading credits at the  College of Fine Arts have included The History of the American Film, Mountain Language, and The Virtuous Burglar.

She participated in several opera  productions with the Dicapo Opera Theater such as L’Elixir d’Amore, and Street Scene (Jenny). She performed in the world premiere of Douglas McGrath’s stage production of Nicholas Nickleby as Mrs. Squeers and portrayed the role of Irene in the world premiere of Finding Grace. Other favorite credits include Les  Miserables (Fantine), and Oscar Wilde’s An Ideal Husband (Mrs. Cheveley). In 2004 she proudly received the Isabelle Stevenson Award from the American Theater Wing. She is a voice student of Andrea DelGiudice.
